Mix-it-up!

This weeks Sunday Style topic post is perhaps my favorite trend for Fall 2015...mixing prints and patterns! This is a style I have always worn..even when it was not popular and somewhat frowned upon. For many people, they love this idea but just aren't sure how to pull it off or want a more subtle look with it. To dip your toes into the water of print and pattern mixing there are six tips to help you achieve that perfect mixed look!

1. Combine a large stripe with a smaller print

This look is awesome and is extremely subtle. You can even do this by using accessories like a scarf or handbag to add the small print. There are many ways to combine this two awesome styles.

2. Offset a floral print with polka dots

If you follow fashion bloggers, we saw a lot of this from them over the summer. This is such a fun look with a pencil skirt and a tucked in top or a polka dot cigarette pant paired with a floral top.

3. Leopard goes with ANYTHING

Don't be scared of this, go bold with leopard print! Everyone should have a leopard clutch, leopard shoes and a leopard scarf. With these three items you can spice up your wardrobe in a moments notice.

4. Polka dots and stripes ALWAYS work

This is one of my favorite looks..it somewhat captures a 1950's image with a modern twist. It is so much fun and most of the time people already have these two items in their closets but have just never thought to pair them together.

5. Double up on the same print

This is a very easy go to and for someone like me, who adores prints it is so much fun! I can't tell you how happy I was to see people starting to do this..it was like Christmas for me.

6. Gingham serves as a great base

How much gingham and plaid have we seen this year? Too much to count! These patterns work as great accent patterns and they also work effortlessly with animal print. Start with a gingham or plaid as your base and start adding from there.

Happy Styling!
